AGRICULTURE

This part of the collection aims to give, through various environments (fertile land, marshes, mountains), an overall view of the tools used to work on the land, from the very beginning to harvesting and, if the case, the subsequent fruit processing.

CATTLE AND OTHER ANIMALS

It is true that the popular image of a Valencian is a good, excellent farmer, but it is no less true that he never used to be a cattle-breeder. Cattle breeding has been a minor activity in the rural Valencian world except in a few places such as the regions in the north of the province of Alacant. The collection of the Museu Valencià d'Etnologia is primarily composed of tools for horse, sheep and goat rearing.

FISHING. EXTRACTION. MOUNTAINS.

The tools used for working in the woods mainly deal with forestry and the production of traditional products like honey. Fishing is represented in the Museum by materials coming from the various lakes and swamps in the land of Valencia.

ARCHITECTURE AND ITS ELEMENTS

This section obviously does not deal with reconstructing any of the various kinds of traditional Valencian housing. However it does aim to give a small representation of characteristic architectural elements of various houses such as windows, grilles, etc.
