The Museu Valencià d’Etnologia focuses its educational activities on those which encourage people of all ages to visit, from primary school children to adults. As such, the guided tours, adapted for all ages, give the visitor the possibility of become familiar with the exhibition La ciutat viscuda: ciutats valencianes en trànsit (1800-1940) (The lived town: Valencian towns in transition, 1800-1940). The viewer consequently learns and understands.
One of the educational programmes the museum has implemented recently is Enrol. La ciudad y sus habitantes (Enrol. The city and its inhabitants), which gives students an overview of urban society at the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th century. It aims to provide material to compare their actual lives with the subject of the exhibition.
The programme ends with teaching boxes, portable units on one particular subject aimed for teaching and one’s spare time. There are currently two boxes available: Aigua, terra i foc: la terriseria (Water, earth and fire: pottery) and L’Hort de la natura: ús tradicional de les plantes (The garden of nature: traditional uses of plants).
