Click here to watch the teaching boxes blog

CONTENTS

This teaching box aims to show, through games and fun activities, the importance of the pottery sector in Valencian society, both for previous generations and today. This is done by showing the different uses in the home and its life cycle, the links between the products and the objects made from clay, why they are shaped as they are, the importance of traditional potters, and how they make their objects.

HOW IT WORKS

The activities in the teaching box are carried out by the guides from the Museu Valencià d'Etnologia at the school or centre that ordered them. The group is divided into groups of five so as to make team work easier.

It is estimated that the activity will take an hour for every group. Group means the number of people in a classroom, or a maximum of 25.

WHO IT IS FOR

It is mainly for school pupils aged between 6 and 14. By adapting the content and working with teachers, some activities can be held for younger children, adults or people with learning disabilities.
